Editorial: Give Ohioans the say on redistricting plan

A redistricting amendment proposed by state Sen. Jon Husted, R-Kettering, fundamentally changes how the board would do business. The seven-member panel would include: the governor, secretary of state, auditor, House Speaker, Senate president and the House and Senate minority leaders.

The Democrat majority in the Ohio House must give this the debate it deserves. Because this constitutional amendment changes the Apportionment Board, Husted’s plan gives voters the final say on whether they want a new redistricting system or prefer the old one.
